I see life as an eternal series of transformations: from one stage of life to the next, from one world to the next. Transformations like these, and those that occur naturally in the world around us continue to inspire me as I witness them in everyday life. It is the process of transformation; reclaiming clay, re-purposing slip, and generally building from the most basic of materials, (dirt and water) that help drive my creative endeavors.
Currently my work explores the power of imperfections and spontaneity as well as man and his ability to transcend his own limitations. Coral is used in my work as a metaphor for the resilience of life and spirit, as well as a tangible representation of a metaphysical world. My work illustrates the convergence of two worlds by incorporating growth and decay, as well as chaos and peace in a cohesive presentation. My nature based religious beliefs have been a driving force in my creative process.
